Social Media misconceptions & depression.. Alately I'm feeling that many people, especially creatives are struggling with comparison to others on Social Media and 'matching up' to what other people are seen to be posting/living. There is nothing wrong with looking, or comparison itself, infact it can be inspiring, helpful, but it's when it start's getting out of hand and it start's to effect your daily life on a subtle emotional level.
Young people are absolutley broken by this right now beyond compehension. So I'm just sending a reminder that someone else's walk was never for you. You have always had your own path to walk which is unique to you ONLY. Investing time & effort into watching other people's 2d u avatar can take crucial time away from what we could be investing into our own, real life, unique path that IS actually for us! Just because images appear "happy", "successful" doesn't mean that is how they are in reality. Same vice versa, people think i'm fumin etc cus I talk about reality but unless they know me, don't realise inside I feel free on many levels. So it's nowt but misconceptions.
There's people out here actually leading full double lives, trust me. It's like life has become 2 entities, it's deep.. The point of sharing is I feel a lot of anxiety around comparison could be alleviated as people start to see how Social Media works and how anyone can fabricate an image and actually 'feel good' about that image. It is simply not the full picture and never willSocial Media misconceptions & depression..
